Answering the demand for owl knowledge, Woodlands has a new 'Get Wise to Owls' display where the highly experienced Falconer, Geoff Pearson, gives a fascinating insight into the world of owls, which has existed for at least 60 million years.
Habitat, food, hunting skills and the ancient art of Falconry make interesting discussions.
The
short presentation provides an out-of-the classroom experience with the
opportunity for a volunteer to fly a bird, which lands on the glove.
During
the winter the Falconry Centre is open on the days that the Leisure
Park is open, weekends and school holidays from 10am to 4.00pm.
There are no flying displays during the winter.
